Process on how to start building your house.
1) Visit Lotor's Summer Palace. In the Northwestern area are several merchants to help you on your way. One of these merchants lets you go visit sample houses while another tells you exactly what fabricated material you will need for what house you desire. There is a pair of merchants that sells you tools to find/locate your house plot and the other sells you the deed for your house plot. House Plots are 1,000,000 Gold for a simple 1x1 and 10,000,000 Gold for a 1x2 plot. Cost of Deeds varies see the chart below on House Deeds.
2) Once you have the Surveying Tools, find the locale you would like to place a house. Once you find a suitable place and available plot, return to the Deed Merchant and buy you a deed according to the size plot you would like. (Unless you already purchased it first trip thru). Once inside the plot location, click the deed in your backpack and it will ask you to confirm you wish to buy this land. At that point, after you have said yes, a Dwarven Construction Foreman will arrive.
3) You have settled on what land you would like, now its time to lay down the foundation to your home. All Foundations as of this writing cost 10,000 gold in addition requires you to supply 500 Iron Ore and 500 Logs. You will need to place these in the Construction Bin next to your Foreman. Usually this will be automatic, but sometimes you will have to click on your Foreman (if someone else supplied the items and placed them in your bin) for him to have his work crew begin doing the foundation.
4) Foundation is Set. Good work. That was the easy part. Now comes the difficult chores. Each house uses the same format as for what Fabricated Materials are required to build. They are - Cinder Blocks, Wooden Trusses, Floor Framing, Reinforcing Bars, Support Plates, Window Framings, Wall Framings, Floor Joists, Metal Door Framings and Metal Supports. Each house has different quantity requirements. We will try to list them later down this tutorial. Some of these items can be made with simple items of iron ingots or wood planks, but others require much more rarer resources. See the Fabricated Materials list below.
5) If you managed to secure all the necessary Fabricated Materials for your house, then your well on your way for your house to be built. These dwarves are a fast crew and it wont take them long to get it all up. Congrats you now "sort of" own your own Ashen Empires Home. Yes there is a 'but' to this...
6) Dont forget to pay your taxes. If you fail to pay your taxes on your property then your house will be foreclosed on and all your time, energy and materials will be lost.
7) House Built? Taxes Paid? Lets Decorate!! Yes you can now start to add furnishings to your house from simple Table and Chairs to a fancy Bear Skin Rug and even some permanant Tradeskill Tools. See the list below for the Furnishing Deeds.
8) Yes seems simple, in all actuality it is but the more difficult part is obtaining the rarer resources. But who knows you might find someone out there to split the rent with. More information on Housing/Construction will be added here when more options are available with Construction.
